Our Vacay is Over. Now Back to the Scheduled Program

Our vacation to this little slice of paradise is over.

Has been for over a week, and man has it been an intense pressure cooker filled with work since our return. I think a 3-day vacay each month will be in order for me to handle the insanity.
Anywho, it's good to be back dishing with y'all.
Major thanks, hugs and more hugs to Linda at Calling it Home and Albertina at Mimosa Lane for holding it down over here with their amazing guest posts. Eternally grateful to those two ladies.
Lots to update you on in the next week or two. Projects are in full swing and so we'll have loads to share.
In the meantime, I'm over at Houzz dishing about everyone's obsession with Chippendale and Cane chairs. Remember our dearest Tiffany Leigh drove four hours round trip to score hers? The things we do for love.

Remember our very own DIY cane chairs for this fab project?

Happy to be back. I'm now off to go see what y'all have been up to.

We'll miss you guys, but we REALLY need a break and LOTS of fun.
Since we'll be hungover much of next week, we'll have some amazing guest posts from a few of our blogger besties. Stay tuned.
Cheers.

Vacay Blues

This little weather system....
Hurricane Sandy showing her wrath over Jamaica
and a very sick baby....
Advice on helping sick babies get to sleep...
Had to rush the lil man to the hospital yesterday. Fever, non-stop crying = an ear infection and he cannot fly for at least a week.

Means there's none of this for us this weekend...

Our much anticipated trip to Negril has been cancelled. Of course we are bummed, but we can't mess with mother nature and we need to nurse our lil man as he gets over this ear infection. Here's to everyone being safe and well this weekend.

The City Of Lights

Whoa...this week just flew by...not that I'm complaining mind you. But as much as I love a three day weekend, the rest of the week seems so crammed and rushed. Well at least I have this weekend to try and catch up and daydream about living in the City of Lights.

I'm not sure where this strong sense of Francophilia comes from, but I would just about die to live in Paris for a summer...who am I fooling? Nothing short of a year would do. Can I tell you, I'm SUPER jealous that Nikki went to Paris for her 30th birthday some years ago...don't worry Niks, I wont say how many years ago...LOL

I imagine parking my bike just outside my apartment window...goodbye I-95, goodbye Turnpike...yes Nikki I know I don't drive on highways...LOL....but you get the drift. I don't care where the apartment is located as long as it's somewhere in Paris...with a cafe in walking distance..wait...aren't they all near cafes?

The living room would be perfect for cozying up and listening to my French Rosetta Stone Cd's....hey..gotta learn to bargain in French at the flea markets....right? Plus big enough to have impromptu Holly Golightlyesque parties with my new Parisian friends.

The bedroom should be the ultimate haven where I can just pass out after spending hours shopping around the city.

And as a bonus, it should have gorgeous spaces for just staring at.....lol

Now, I'm not sure that when I get to Paris I will be fortunate enough to even visit much less stay at any of these lust worthy apartments, but as Lyman Frank Baum said..."and the dreams you dare to dream really do come true,"
so who knows.

Where do you dream of visiting or even staying for a year?  Does Paris top that list?

Have an amazing weekend.

WHISK ME AWAY FRIDAYS

We survived another week!!!!

I know I'm not the only one that wishes this was another long holiday weekend. So, as I watch the clock slowly tick away to 5 p.m, here are some of the places I wish I could escape to this weekend.

                                                   Ayana Resort - Bali, Indonesia

                                                      Park Hyatt Goa India

                                                         The Caves - Jamaica

                                                     Goldeneye - Jamaica

                                                         Gallows Point Resort

                                                       Six Senses Laamu - Maldives

                                                          El Silencio Lodge

Can you tell I'm longing for a tropical escape? What's your favorite dream escape?
